I hate to do it! We’ve held strong all week being open for you during this snow event, but yesterday brought clear skies and people had cabin fever and so a large potion of our staff is stuck in various places outside of town. So, we are going to call it today and shut down due to the weather. But, we will be back tomorrow, and if you are hungry, we’d love to see you.

Ok, this one I definitely posed (I snuck the little guy under his arm while Bob was conked out) but the other two earlier were all Bob on his own snuggling with the stuffed animal. Henry picked this toy out for Bob for Christmas. Because Bob has a cow costume and this toy is a dog in a cow costume. The hood comes down and even his ears match Bob’s ears, it’s pretty damn cute.

We’ve had a busy weekend! The Holiday Stroll on Friday was great fun, so very festive. On Saturday, the kids dressed up for formal were a pleasure to see. It felt a little like summer levels these last couple days, thank you Livingston for keeping this small business busy!! It means the world to all of us and we appreciate you!

Today’s photos include, Allee on her birthday. Admittedly, I am late posting this. I think her birthday was several weeks ago… if not over a month ago. But, it’s a cute picture and Allee is one of our servers and bartenders to be celebrated! She’s a spit fire. She’s a great server, attentive. She says what’s on her mind, she’s funny, a tad dramatic, if she wants it she gets it, she’s a hard worker, and she is someone you can count on. The amount of times she’s bailed out other bartenders and servers by covering their shift, we don’t know what we could do without her! Facts about Allee: she has a shoe collection that might fill several closets. Along with that, she also has a vast hat collection. She always has the perfect hat for any occasion.

Second photo feature not only beautiful sushi, but also my most favorite plate. Why? Because it’s got a whimsical drawing of my home land, Long Island. Lots of people try to guess where Neptune’s theme comes from, it’s usually more tropical places. But the truth of the matter is the ocean is in my bones. I grew up on the North Shore of Long Island, east just before the forks. All of the individual neighborhoods have beaches with these super long boardwalks that wind through the woods for what seems like a mile, the board walk works its way down the dunes and finally you pop out of dark, thick greenery onto the beach with a clear view of the Long Island Sound. ❤️

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

The Christmas season is my favorite. I love all of the colors, the whimsy, the lights and cheer. Kindness is in the air, humanity is at its best, love and generosity is all around. This year, wow, December rolled in with beautiful weather and a sunset for the ages. Rosie pulled out her tree skirt for the month, and we’ve got servers with smiles, sushi platters galore for sharing among all of your holiday gatherings. Cami’s daughter, Britny (DoorDash driver extraordinaire! 🚗) gave birth to Hazel Grace 👶 at 6:02 pm Sunday. Mom and baby are both healthy and grandparents Cami and Fred are very proud!

Folks: this is what happens when your water expansion tank fails and it’s above your pretty women’s bathroom. 😳😫😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

Unfortunately the expansion tank prevents our many hot water heaters from over flowing and causing more damage so until it’s replaced (hopefully tomorrow morning, thanks Brian at Beartooth Plumbing 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽) we will need to shut down.

We will be shut down for the rest of today, and are hoping to be open for lunch tomorrow, and then regular hours for Tuesday and Wednesday.

We will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Fixing then out water issue should be quick, but fixing the water damage will not be quite as fast, so please bear with us while we go through that process. Our restroom situation maybe a little different than what you are used to until we can get the restoration work finished.

Manou played a funny prank on Jordan and honestly, I couldn’t believe he pulled it off as well as he did! He managed to get all of these stickers on Jordan’s back without detection, I though FOR SURE Jordan was just playing along. Jordan seriously had no clue until the end of the night when I said “ok, so like you do know Manou put all those stickers on your back right?” And he said with total conviction, “no, what are you talking about?” And I almost died laughing. Good job Manou, he had us howling.

A beautiful chef’s choice roll that was made a little while back… if memory serves correctly (which there’s a solid chance it does not, so if I’m wrong don’t get mad at me!) I am pretty sure Henrycorn made this particular roll.

Ramen season is officially here! Ben tested this Ramen recipe several different ways and the result is phenomenal. We make our broth over two days in a stock pot that takes up three burners on the stove! The broth is the heart of ramen and people have been raving! Ben really put the time and energy into researching the best techniques and best practices for not only the broth but also the jammy eggs or poached eggs.

The best part is: we have the ramen every day throughout the cold season! Available as take out, online ordering and DoorDash as well.

Please take note of the change in seasonal hours: Sunday through Thursday 11:30am to 8pm. Friday and Saturday 11:30 am - 8:30 pm.

Most of our staff has been here at Neptune’s for years now! When staff is happy and that should translate to you our guests. If they leave Neptune’s I hope they are moving on to something that will improve their lives and propel them onward and upward. End of summer naturally brings departures and while we miss them we’re also happy for every one following their dreams.

Emily brought me joy on the daily, evidenced in this dumb (of me) but cute (of her) picture. She left for Iowa to attend college in early August. She took a journey to figure out what she wanted to pursue in her life and she came to the conclusion that she wanted to enter this intense wellness studies program and she made her dreams happen. I miss her dearly. But, she’s out there living her best life and Neptune’s was a stepping stone on that path.

John R. one of our hot line cooks and prep cooks left Neptune’s and travelled with his longtime partner Kat to Hawaii. John became a true friend to me at Neptune’s. In Hawaii, they are staying and working on a farm where they are farming pineapples, passion fruit, and other tropical things, catering singing retreats, and also private events, in their free time they are enjoying some of the best meals they’ve ever had. John invited me to participate in a fantasy football league before he left so we’ve been keeping in touch daily and they are doing great (both at fantasy football and in HI).

Little Fiona, took a big leap off to Europe. She flew off to Rome to teach English to Italian children, but then has been taking the opportunity to traveling and experience Italy and European culture. We will hopefully see her face again sometime this winter!

Mason moved on from Neptune’s but he didn’t go far, just over to our friends at Gil’s Goods and The Murray to be the Kitchen Manager. He’s crushing it over there. We miss him, but he’s cooking up some delish pizzas and sammy’s over there. Of course, Henry, Ben and I, all still harass Mason in the group text we’ve still got going, and keep him updated on all things Neptune’s whether he likes it or not.

It was a fun Halloween! Driving around town I saw so many families and kids out having fun, and it was so fun to see them all over the place! I think the funniest thing I saw was a giant pink inflatable dinosaur/dragon walking down the Geyser street.

Our crew had a great time. Jordan and Ben hit it out of the park and dressed up as Henry and Mason from their time at Ferdinand’s. A short lived but magical time. The reference was niche but, so they were so on the mark, Jordan even put on a neck tattoos and Ben went out and bought a pair of jeans! Mason, no longer with us, but always in our hearts and in the group text (it’s ok, he’s just over at the Murray 😂😂😂)

Then, our PM front of house crew dressed up like the Minions with our bartender Bettina as Gru. I think they all just crushed the assignment!

The thing I love about Neptune’s and the space we’ve all created (guests and staff alike) is that most of the time at the root of it all everyone here is enjoying themselves. Our staff truly loves one another and has fun, and our guests are creating memories and moments whether they be fun, serious, or just quality conversation. Life truly happens at Neptune’s. It’s a privilege to watch it happen.

Sometimes, you’ll find a beautiful surprise deep in your rice bowl! Henry likes to do a little rose for his avocados! I think it’s like a good luck charm, or like the toy inside your cereal box!

Two things happened on this day, the second thing was this review. It was written in response to a mean spirited review that was written on our sidewalk with our chalk. These kind ladies were having a great time and enjoying their experience so when they saw this happen they wrote their own reviews with much more grandeur and flair!

Did you know we are different than a lot of corporate restaurants? If you order something and you don’t like it, just let us know, on occasion it does happen, we know. You don’t have to write on the sidewalk or Google to get our attention, just tell your server or bartender! If we can fix it while you’re still dining with us it’s a better experience all around. If you don’t eat it, we won’t charge you for it, and we’ll be happy to get something else for you and prioritize it through our kitchen so that you get it fast.

It’s been a long time coming…..

It’s been so long since I’ve posted! Summer at Neptune’s just gets so busy. For two months we serve four to five times the amount of guests we do each month for the rest of the year (wild, right!?). There was even a day that I got to be a server for a full shift, (it was really fun for me to get to fully serve our guests, but hard to manage the rest of the show while serving!)

All I can do is just keep swimming until the season is over and we have all survived! Then I go into decompression mode and I even though it’s slowed down I still don’t wind up getting back into the swing of all the things I do in the off season for a couple of months. Livingston locals seem to do something similar. We see less of you in summer, but a couple months afterwards all of our beloved locals are back and coming in regularly. It’s really great to see your faces and have a chance to chat.

So, I’m back with the Neptune’s updates! We’ve got a lot of great things coming up and I’ll post more info as we get closer to each one.

1. Door Dash!
Likely next week, we will start offering delivery through door dash! I’m excited to offer this as someone who eats WAY too much pizza as I will do almost anything to not have to cook at home. I’m excited to give locals a new option for delivery. As soon as I have all the info, I will roll it out here. We will still always prioritize our in house guests so you may notice that take out orders take a break during our busiest times (usually dinner hours Friday and Saturdays). We’ll try to offer to go and door dash though as consistently as possible though!

2. Iron Chef!
We are aiming for November to bring back our popular creative challenge amongst staff. The common ingredient will be fresh ginger this go around.

3. Private Events!
It only took four years after Covid to bring back our ability to do private parties, but, we have been hosting private events on our roof top and Seahorse room throughout the summer, and we are now getting our dedicated event room cleaned up and ready to go. The goal is to be able to offer holiday parties for groups of 40-60 this holiday season.

Have you seen our new tables and chairs yet? Our new chairs are cushioned and a just little bit bigger for more comfort!

1. Our roof top is a magical place. Whenever I get to go up from downstairs as soon as I’m up there, it’s just like I’ve entered a different world, peaceful, chill vibes all around!

Remember, roof top season is a short season. The roof is open 7 nights a week through August. What I’m saying here, is you’ve got to prioritize roof time while it’s available 😉.

1. The poke tower is such a fun thing to make, if you have the time you can get really creative with the plating and sauces and make a beautiful work of art! If you don’t have time and have to move quickly, you can just throw sauce everywhere and it still looks like super cool abstract art! #foodservicesecretsrevealed

2. Starting at the bottom and going clockwise we have: Ellyce, Maddie, Beth and Pierce!

3. The kids love the .5 shots. Ellie took this of her and Cami while they were working a back of house shift together! Ellie was on sushi and Cami on expo. Teamwork makes the dream work! 😉

4. These ladies were smart, they came out and up for our roof top! Be like them, and remember it’s open 7 nights a week starting at 4:30, through August. A short but well loved season.

Wow, wow, wow! You guys kept us BUSY!!! I can’t believe it’s already July 10, time flies when you’re having fun and working your tail off 😂 I’m no stranger to working a lot, but, this last “week” was 11 long, busy days in a row for me and for that I am so grateful and exhausted. So you’ll have to pardon my extreme lateness in sharing some of these more timely photos for the 4th!

1. Madi and me on the 4th of July! She’s so cute, she asked me to send her this photo after we were done, “because we look cute”.

2. If you’ve been to Neptune’s once, you’ve seen our silverware rolling station. It’s rare time when someone isn’t trying to roll some silverware!

3. This is the horribly late photo I forgot to share on the actual Fourth of July. But, it was too good to hold back, even if I’m 6 days late.

4. I just love this photo. You can feel the happiness coming through, off the screen!

During this next HOT week, don’t forget, we’ve got our Painkiller machines going both upstairs and downstairs to aid in keeping you nice and cool!

1. Parade Day was fun, it never disappoints. Rumor has it 8000 people were there? What do you think?

2. Happy Independence Day! Cali and Kyra put in their red, white and blue!

3. Funny story…. On Wednesday, one of our delivery drivers moved his dolly in such a way that it popped off our door to the walk in refrigerator! I don’t even know how he did that, and more importantly, I am amazed at our staff for actually getting it put back on right away! It’s still a little off and needs to be fixed by a professional, but we avoided total catastrophe! It’s never a dull day over here at Neptune’s… just when I think I’ve seen it all, something like this happens to remind me, nope, you haven’t!

4. So many flags and cowboy hats over the last three days! We appreciate so much what the annual rodeo does by bringing in thousands of people who inevitably shop, dine, or stay at our town’s businesses each year.

Not much time to write, been super busy as you can imagine! But here are some parade day photos! Remember, roof top is open 7 days a week at 4:30!

IT’S PARADE DAY!!!! The most wonderful time of the year!

1. Irie is excited for 4th of July week! It will be our busiest, craziest week for the entire year. Lots of preparation goes in beforehand and it all still feels like pure chaos. Come join the fun, it’s certainly a unique Livingston experience 🎆🎇

2. We’ve got the red white and blue burger special available through the 4th! Henry concocted what he calls the “Toby Keith Burger” it’s got roasted RED peppers, WHITE American cheese and BLUE cheese.

3. Avery and Ben said the first night on the roof top bar was a success. Even if there was a little rain, it brought the rainbow!We’ll have it open today by 4:30 again. A lot of people ask why they can’t watch the parade from the roof. It’s a good idea in theory, until you realize you can’t see Main Street from up there 😂

4. Allee crafted a Red, White and Blue Mojito for the day. RED Luxardo Cherry, WHITE coco cream, and BLUE curaçao!

Today’s the day!!!! Roof opens at 4:30 pm. Ben and Avery will be your hosts! Full menu available along with a phenomenal view of Livingston Peak.

What’s been happening round Neptune’s? I know you’re dying to know.

1. Jasper is working more and he’s so great! First of all, he makes the funniest faces, he’s a goof ball. He’s also charming, laid back, and gets good grades at school. The other day I complimented him on how good his sushi rolls were looking and how he worked a 9 hour shift like a BOSS. He said he was so glad I noticed his sushi because he’s really been working on his skills and presentation. I mean… I couldn’t ask for better team members! Stella, I know you’re gonna love this one 😉

2. Fiona, Allee, and Olivia! Smiles abound!

3. Pierce and Maddie! Oddly enough we’ve had so many twinning coincidences. The other day Pierce and Maddie were inadvertently wearing the same outfit. Then, another day Brylea and Nicole. Another day, three team members were all wearing the exact same color pink shirt. I always wonder how that kind of stuff happens…

4. Well, not much needs to be said here other than: Olive says get your butt down to Neptune’s and straight up to the roof!

Roof Countdown!!!!! 2 more days! Opens 4:30 pm Monday. Just in time for the parade, and all 4th of July festivities! Starting on our second week of roof service, we’ll be doing a pirate pop up!!! Pirate themed drinks and fun will be offered! In August, we’ll be doing a Taylor Swift themed Pop Up on the roof (not even my idea, which is shocking if you know how much I love TS)

1. Hailey!! She was headed to a concert and stopped by to say hi and get her paycheck. So we got to see her TOTALLY out of Neptune’s uniform. Usually she’s rolling sushi, so that means hair up, t-shirt and shorts and an apron. This glitter sparkle shirt was amazing!! Hailey just finished her first year at college at U of M. She’s focusing on sciences and hopes to be in the research medical field. She’s a boss.

2. Nicole picked up these doggie water bowls. She texts me a photo with “I got these for the dog park on the patio” and I about died laughing. We do allow well behaved dogs on the downstairs patio. Often there are several out there at a time! Sometimes people will order a hamburger patty for their furry friends, which I think is adorable. Office dog Bob, approves.

3. Pierce took this picture and said, “the sky matches Neptune’s colors!”

4. Emily and Brylea! Emily just was accepted to Maharishi International University in Iowa. And a Brylea, just returned from 2 weeks in Belize with Therapy Abroad where she worked with local kids on speech therapy. In their spare time, they hang out with us at Neptune’s and serve you!

1. Calli recruited her boyfriend Angel to work as a dishwasher. We were all a little worried they’d be distracted… so far so good, Angel is crushing those dishes while looking fly in his new blue company provided fit! Calli told me when I posted this photo I should say “Neptune’s Power Couple” which then made me laugh when I came to the next picture in my camera roll…

2. The other Neptune’s power couple. Me and Calli. We both love Taylor Swift so of course we are destined to be work besties. All the kids keep me on my toes, but this one… she’s a fire cracker.

4. Our Brussels salad with fried artichokes added! The person who ate this definitely got their 5 recommended servings of veggies for the day! And bacon. There’s bacon in the food pyramid right??

If you’re participating in Roof Top Opening Day Countdown we only have 4 days left! It will officially open at 4:30 pm Monday, July 1!

1. Ron and Sandy enjoy a pain killer and a beer. You might know them from their home on Geyser, always decked out to the nines for every holiday!

2. I don’t know who ordered this, but I love it. Sushi and a brownie sundae, all at once.

3. Out servers are not only friendly and happy to see you, but they are also semi professional photographers! Always going above and beyond 😉

4. Cole mostly works on the hot line now, but he made a recent appearance bussing and showed off his masterful skills. He and his twin brother Connor started on bussing a few days after they turned 14, and they’ve worked their way up from busser, to dishwasher, to hot line and now sushi! When Cole first started people didn’t believe he was 14 and they all thought he was “the owners son”. We swore he wasn’t, he has his own parents, but it didn’t stop him from cleaning up the tips from the people who thought he was the hardest working kid they’d ever seen.

Couple of announcements before the stories! Roof top will be open 7 nights a week through July and August and first day is July 1 at 5:00 pm.

Second, as we are now officially in our busy busy season please expect longer wait times, we’re getting food out faster than we ever have in 5 years but, when every seat is full orders are taking 30-40 minutes. But please know every single person is working their tail off to get food and drink in front of you as quickly as possible! We love you guys and thank you for filling up our seats and being patient with us!

1. This group is called, “Faith In Action” collectively with others they are riding bicycles from Seattle to DC! This group is doing the stretch from Moab to Columbia Falls. They have someone pulling a U-Haul with all of their gear. That person goes to the next stop and meets up with them there. They have been sleeping on church floors, pews, etc. They carry mats and will sleep anywhere! They came from all over the country. What a ride!

2. Junglebird in the background (I love these new tulip glasses we got in) and a pomegranate margarita with a sugar rum in the foreground. Funny story… Kyra texted me this picture and I asked what the pink drink was since I didn’t recognize it and did we come up with it or the customer? She texts back, “The coroner ordered it”… autocorrect at its finest… she meant “the customer ordered it” 😂

3. Calli, almost always smiling. She’s been saying “life is good” a lot. She did a photo shoot with Bob after work in the office.

4. Henry has a saying in a very official sounding voice, “That’s a good looking…. Fill in the blank”. Usually it’s, that’s a good looking kitty. (He loves cats). But truly, that IS a good looking sushi platter!

1. Ruby came in to celebrate her birthday with dad Paul and brother Roman! She got two desserts to celebrate and when I asked her, “which do you like the best?” She said “ummmm both!”

2. Did you know we use fresh juice for all of our craft cocktails. In the busy season… the juicing never seems to end!

3. Kai, one of newest hosts for the summer! You may recognize her from Shane Center productions over the years!
She graduated Park High a few weeks ago, and in August she’s headed off to MSU!

4. Philly Roll, one of the most popular! Smoked salmon, cream cheese and avocado, a lot of people’s fav.

1. Fiona wears many hats… sushi, server, expo, food runner and food model!

2. It looks like Ben is shaking a fish at the photographer, it looks like Jasper absolutely cannot BELIEVE that Ben would ever even dare to do that.

3. No joke, the CEO of Pantone has this to say about the color of the year, Peach Fuzz: “In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless.” I feel like this kind of describes what we aim for here at Neptunes. So… maybe come and get one of these orange drinks so we can fulfill our Peach Fuzz mission!?

4. Speaking of youthful and timeless… Pierce and Olive! Smiles convey youth, and absolutely never go out of style!

1. Sometimes after a long day instead of leaving right away everyone hangs out and eats at the bar together. Kind a like a family dinner.

2. Surf Style Salmon Nigiri, pairs very nicely with the new Huckleberry Blonde we have on tap from Bridger Brewing.

3. Ellyce and Fiona, Friday at lunch! Fiona’s chef’s choice rolls are legendary. You may see her behind the sushi counter, on the hot line or serving, she’s a Jill of all trades, and one of our hardest working MVPs.

4. I don’t know that these guys were psyched to have their picture taken 😂 I think they had a long day on the river and were hungry and tired! But, they gave us a thumbs up, I’ll take it!

5. No picture because we were just so, so, busy all day long: but thank you to everyone who came out for Father’s Day! It was our busiest day in a very long time and to everyone who was patient, thank you extra!!!
